Purpose

Hey there!! this beautiful lotus leaf was captured by my cousin and why is this here, if you ask me…then the answer is the same reason to blog. Someday through this journey, I would like to master the act of living in this world and yet remain unaffected by it, just like this leaf. If the so-called reality exists in the human mind then I believe anything is possible. I’m in no hurry, loving the journey as much as the destination.

By the way, my name is Sumi and I am not into any religion or its madness. I also understand well that I can inspire few but cannot change anyone except myself. Change must come from within, isn’t it? So, the intention is not to teach either but just to keep me focused on the teachings of Bhagavad Gita and to document my thoughts.

Like many of you, I expected Bhagavad Gita to be a religious book but it took me by surprise when I started on it. Designed as not a religious book but instead a study of the Human Mind, more like a high-end psychology. It teaches you the secrets to mastering your mind in leading a blissful life. The Gita does not speak of changing the world but it prepares you to appreciate the world that is constantly changing.

Since then, I have taken a deep interest in its science. I haven’t mastered it, I am still very much a student but my perspective on life has changed to a more realistic one.

Besides, I always wondered if there was anyone in this world who shared a similar outlook towards life as mine. So, through this blog, I would love to connect with that audience.

This is my personal journey into The GITA and I welcome you to it. Your thoughts and suggestions would be highly appreciated 😊

  6. It feels really great to come across like minded people through blogging.I am also called Sumi and have recently finished reading the abridged version of Bhagvad Gita.I always thought its religious and so never dared to touch it.However under the guidance of a teacher who used to daily quote from Bhagvad Gita,I became interested in it.I started reading it and then I just could not stop myself.Having finished it,all my inquisitiveness that I showed towards God has finally ended.I feel like I know the cause and effect of each occurence and so cannot blame Him anymore. My perception about life has changed,I have become an observer, its like a complete transformation.I think I am feeling so excited for the moment that even my words will be less to describe such a master book and the way it has affected me.If you read my post ‘Reflecting Back’,you will get a hint of my tranfiguration!:)

    1. Hi Shivangi, I myself follow Gita press and whatever understanding I have of Gita is from my interactions with the Teacher. Through satsang n he is very kind to answer the questions we pose.
I do have Bhagavad Gita from the Chinmaya mission. Haven’t read it completely but I intend to. I will let you know:)

  8. And sorry Sumi,I have not been reading your posts since a long time as I am not getting time.Very soon,I will read your posts and write on each of them.Actually your posts are so good and meaningful that I read it very slowly and carefully so as to inculcate good values and that is the reason that I never like any post randomly without going through it deeply.
